Dr. Amanda Marrero
Co-Owner, DACM, L.Ac., Dipl. Ac. (NCCAOM)
Dr. Amanda has been practicing acupuncture for15 years. Growing up in a household of first responders ignited Amanda’s desire to help and serve others. That being said, she started nursing school right out of high school. Passionate about the opportunity to help others and soaking in all the new medical knowledge, she thought she was right on track until she started asking questions like.. Why give medications when we can help prevent disease and inflammation? Why are we rushing around never getting to know the patients we are treating? Isn’t there a better way that treats the WHOLE person and not just the symptoms? Soon after, Amanda left nursing school and embarked on an adventure of finding a way to be more present with her patients and have long lasting health solutions.
Working in mental health facilities, going to massage therapy school, struggling with ongoing digestive issues herself, Amanda finally was led to pursue a career in Acupuncture and Chinese medicine. She felt at home, it all made sense, and the accumulated knowledge from nursing school, mental health work, and massage therapy showed its purpose.
Along the way, Amanda has found that her gifts and passions are empowering, educating, and encouraging her patients to tap into their own innate ability to heal. She believes to the core that each patient is whole, competent, and has the ability and right to choose and live in wellness.
Sarah Haga
Co-Owner, Office Manager
After 10 years of teaching high school art in Colorado, I moved to Virginia with my husky where I found a job working the front desk and doing administrative work for an acupuncturist. After years of struggling with digestive issues and frozen shoulder I quickly discovered the benefits of acupuncture and herbs.
I often say acupuncture accepts the page that you and your lifestyle are on and patiently, before consciously knowing any need for change, gently turns the page and brings you to a place where you want to make the necessary changes to live your most fulfilling chapter of your life. Mentally, emotionally, and physically.
2026, I will be 5 years sober, digestive issues have completely subsided, muscle aches come up and are addressed immediately, extra weight was lost, not to mention the emotional state of living in fight or flight has been replaced with a balanced and nourished lifestyle. I’ll also be a first time healthy expectant mother at age 45 years old.
Acupuncture is always a good idea especially when moving through transitions expected or not. It accesses your nervous system in such a distinct and meaningful way where you can navigate life's highs and lows more easefully and with more clarity. I would not be who I am nor near as healthy today if I had not invested in acupuncture and consistent treatments throughout the years.
I now love and have learned to embrace the yin moments that exist within me by walking, running, or hiking with my husband and two furry huskies, reflecting and planting my vegetable garden, drawing, or cooking and baking home cooked meals for my growing family.
